Qualcomm is on roll after launching the flagship SD888 SoC the company has now announced yet another chipset under mid-range segment. After launching the SD675 SoC earlier in 2018 we now have a slightly powerful version out with SD678 SoC.

Yes, Qualcomm has finally upgraded the mid-range chipset with SD678 SoC today. The new Snapdragon 678 SoC will get huge upgrade in terms of great photography and connectivity under the mid-range segment. The Snapdragon 678 SoC is built on 11nm LPP process which is exactly similar to SD675 SoC but got overclocked Cortex A76 cores at 2.2 GHz.

Sadly, the Snapdragon 678 SoC still uses the same GPU with Adreno 612 GPU but the company promises better gaming performance. Further, the Snapdragon 678 SoC will carry the same features as the SD675 SoC with Qualcomm’s Spectra 250L ISP, Snapdragon X12 LTE Modem and Hexagon 685 DSP.

The additional feature includes 2520×1080 pixel resolution displays and 10-bit color support on SD678 SoC. Further, the chipset also get support for 48MP main sensor and 16MP selfie shooter with 4K video recording @30fps and HEVC codec support.
