Xiaomi made the Redmi brand independent which also unveiled its first smartphone with Redmi Note 7 yesterday. Earlier Xiaomi CEO asked for fans that if they launch flagship smartphone under Redmi series will they buy?
During the Redmi Note 7 launch, Lei Jun was asked is the Redmi Note 7 the flagship smartphone under Redmi brand for which Xiaomi CEO replied that they are working on the flagship smartphone which will ship with new SD855 SoC.
Further, he clarified that Redmi is now the independent brand and was formed based on Redmi series smartphones which were popular and has effectively sold whopping 278 million smartphones. Now the Redmi brand is looking to create few flagships which will be cost effective as well as durable.
With Redmi brand made independent Xiaomi Mi-series will not compete with each other instead will compete with other brands smartphone at the different price range. As per the source, the alleged Redmi flagship is rumored to cost 2500 Yuan (Rs.26,000/-) in China.
