Previously we got various leaks claiming that the Xiaomi sub-brand is working on the cheaper alternative to Mi 11 with the Redmi K40 series. We even got various leaks showing the design of the alleged Redmi K40 & Redmi K40 Pro. Further, we even spotted the alleged Redmi K40 series on the various listings and even got some of the key specs of the device.
Now finally Redmi VP Mr. Lu Weibing shared the official launch details of the new cheaper flagship Redmi K40 series. As per the post, the company will launch just a single device probably as the post mentions just Redmi K40. The Redmi K40 will finally be going official in China on Feb 25.
Further, Mr. Lu also mentioned that Redmi K40 will come with an all-new design this time along with brand new positioning and will offer a brand new experience. Apart from this nothing much about the new Redmi K40 is revealed.
As per previous leaks, Xiaomi officials revealed all the devices under the Redmi K40 series will be using a Snapdragon 888 processor. It will sport a flat FHD+ AMOLED display and comes with a 4000 mAh battery. The leak also revealed that Redmi K40 will cost 2999 Yuan (Rs.34,000/-) in China.

Further, we have received a screenshot showing the key specs of the new Redmi K40 & Redmi K40 Pro. As per the source, the new Redmi K40 & Redmi K40 Pro will come with the same 6.81 inches AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440p. The panel used on the Redmi K40 series is the same one found on Mi 11, so we can also expect a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support.
The change comes in terms of processor the Redmi K40 will ship with SD870 SoC whereas the top-end Redmi K40 Pro with SD888 SoC. There is also another device with MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC which may be called Redmi K40S. Both the devices will come with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage options.
The Redmi K40 comes with a 108MP main sensor coupled with an 8MP ultra-wide and 5MP macro sensor. The Redmi K40 Pro too ships with the same main sensor as K40 but with a 13MP ultra-wide and 5MP macro lens. Both of them come with a 30MP selfie shooter. Lastly, the Redmi K40 will ship with a 4500 mAh battery whereas the Redmi K40 Pro with huge 5000 mAh.
