Earlier we got a series of rumors and leaks about Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi working on the first flagship smartphone which is powered by the SD855 SoC. Now, Redmi has officially announced that they are working on the true flagship.
As per the post by Lu Weibing, GM of Redmi has shared the images of the SD855 SoC and confirmed that they are also planning to launch the flagship similar Mi 9 later this year. Till date, we never saw any Redmi device with top-end SD800 series chipset and for the first time, Redmi is introducing its true flagship with SD855 SoC.
Anyway, earlier Xiaomi director said there is a lack of SD855 SoC due to which they are delaying the launch of the next gaming smartphone Black Shark 2. So we might expect the Redmi flagship might be pushed further due to the lack of SD855 chipset.
