Google is all set to launch the next iteration of Android with Android Q later this year at Google I/O. We still have a lot of time for the official announcement but we already got a series of features leaked through leaked ROM.
Today, XDA developers have just found another feature which is making its way on the new Android Q. As per the source, Google will bring the Apple popular facial recognition tech with Face ID like feature on the new Android Q. We already have devices like Mi 8 Explorer Edition and Huawei Mate 2 Pro with Facial recognition feature but doesn’ have support so brands had to work on the feature to implement on Android.
With Android Q Google will make the process simpler by adding the feature right on the ROM so that brands can enable it without any customization. The source has spotted the new Facial recognition feature on the Settings APK, framework and System UI from the leaked Android Q ROM.
To setup, the Facial Recognition one has to set the Password, PIN or pattern as backup similar to fingerprint unlock. The new Facial unlock will not only used for unlocking the device but can be used for making payments and even sign-in the apps.
Apart from that, Google has started teasing for the 2019 edition of Google I/O. Google has just shared puzzle among developers on Twitter which went out a couple of hours ago. Later the developer of Lawnchair Launcher has finally solved the puzzle which included the Google I/O 2019 event dates along with venue.
As per the source, the upcoming Google I/O 2019 will be held from May 7 to May 9 at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California once again.
