Earlier we had a few reports about the upcoming Samsung’s 2019 smartphones will feature the new ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. We even got a series of a patent filed by Samsung showing the new in-display tech. We also got many rumors about Samsung to bring the in-display fingerprint sensor on Galaxy Note 8 & S9 series which didn’t happen.
Now we have a new patent filed by Samsung, which sheds some light on the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. As per USPTO listing, Samsung mentions the use of a biometric sensor with ultrasonic tech. The new patent reveals the location on the device for the new in-display or ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
As per the patent, Samsung shows two different smartphones one with bezel-less display another with the traditional form factor. Both the devices in-display fingerprint scanner is located in the same position. As per Samsung, the new ultrasonic fingerprint scanner can be placed either on the side or back of the display.
As per the patent, the new ultrasonic fingerprint scanner will be more secure and responsive than the traditional in-display fingerprint scanner. The new fingerprint scanner will also come with an image sensor so that it can be more reliable than other.
