Xiaomi always launches many devices in China to compete with other competitors. Earlier Xiaomi launched the special edition of Mi 8 called Mi 8 Explorer Edition which had transparent back.
Now we have spotted a new variant of the Mi 8 Explorer Edition but with a smaller notch. Due to smaller notch, there is no 3D Facial recognition camera on the device. We can expect the new device to be the cheaper variant of Mi 8 Explorer Edition.
As per the images, we can see the narrower notch with selfie camera located just next to the earpiece. On the back, we have a similar design to the Mi 8 Explorer Edition with the Dual rear camera along with LED flash. The device might come with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
As per TENAA, the cheaper variant of Mi 8 Explorer Edition will have 6.21 inches AMOLED display. It is expected to arrive with SD845 SoC coupled with 4GB/6GB/8GB RAM along with 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage.
