Earlier we saw Huawei and Samsung were ahead in the competition in the 5G phone race. Now we have another Chinese brand Lenovo joining the race and claims to launch world’s first 5G phone.
As per the removed post from Weibo, Lenovo President Cheng Chang has mistakenly shared that Lenovo will launch the world’s first 5G phone with SD855 SoC inside. Sadly, the post didn’t mention any device name nor specs.
Earlier we had few reports about SD855 already under mass production and we also spotted the first smartphone with SD855 SoC from Sony as well as Xiaomi on Geekbench. Anyway, there are also rumors about SD855 to ship with 5G chip inside and will be based on 7nm node.
