Qualcomm is currently working on the mid range chipset SD 630,SD 635 & SD 660 which will be giving direct competition to the Mediatek chips used in many of the Mid range devices now. Qualcomm is already popular for its flagship chipset now it want to gain that popularity on mid range devices.
Qualcomm is going to launch their mid range chip with SD 660 on May 9 2017 in China and has already sending invites in China.SD 660 is the downgrade variant of SD 835 which has great battery life and comes with some improved optimization in performance.
SD 660 is rumored to be manufactured by Samsung using 14nm LPP technology. It is having Octa Core CPU with combination of 4 Cortex A73 cores and next 4 cores are of Cortex A53.It is having Adreno 512 GPU and support Dual channel LPDDR4X-1866 memory, UFS 2.1 storage, camera upto 24 MP, LTE CAT10 & 3 carrier aggregation.
