Microsoft just launched the upgrade variant of Surface series with the new Surface Pro.Surface Pro is the successor of last year launched Surface 4.
The new Surface Pro is having completely new design and it just weighs 771 grams and just 8.5 mm thick.It has hinge at the back that allows 165 degree of movement for near flat angle.The new Surface Pro is having 12.3 inch 2736×1824, PixelSense display with 267 ppi 7 3:2 aspect ratio.It has color switcher profiles for system wide color management.
The new Surface Pro lineup will be powered by 7th gen Intel Kaby Lake Core m3, Core i5 & Core i7 variants. The Core m3 & Core i5 models does not comes with fan.Core m3 will be having 4GB RAM,128GB flash storage and Intel HD Graphic 615.The Core i5 variants comes with 4GB RAM & 128GB or 8GB RAM and 256GB storage options with Intel HD Graphics 620.Core i7 variants comes with 8GB RAM 128GB storage or 16GB RAM & 512GB or 16GB RAM and 1TB storage options with Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640.
There is no details of the model number for the Core i5 chip used, it probably might be the mobile version.As per connectivity options include 1 USB Type 3.0 port, 1 Mini display port,microSDXC card reader,headphone jack,Microsoft own proprietary connector called Surface Connect, Bluetooth & Wifi.It has 8MP camera at the back & 5MP camera at the front.Both of them support 1080p video recording.There is 1.6 watt stereo speaker with Dolby Audio Premium and dual microphones.
Microsoft also launched the new Surface Pen with new Surface Pro which has 4096 pressure points, reduced 21 millisecond latency and tilt functionality.Now Surface Pen will be no longer bundled with new Surface Pro, will have to buy separately.The New Surface Pen will cost $99.Microsoft also launched the set of new Signature Type Covers for new Surface Pro with Scissor mechanism and 13. mm key travel & wrapped in Alcantara like Surface laptop.There will be three color variants with Burgundy,Platinum and Coral blue.It is priced around $129.
Microsoft also launched Surface Dock which supports 4K displays and 4 USB ports.There is also new accessory called Surface dial which is priced at $99.
Microsoft Surface Pro will come with updated Microsoft Office 365 apps with new inking features.Microsoft also announced WhiteBoard and exclusive app only for Surface users to do simultaneous collaborative multi device inking.
Microsoft Surface Pro pricing starts from $799.99 goes up to $2,699 for top model with Core i7 and is available for Pre order from today.
