Xiaomi Mi 8 is all set to be unveiled on May 31 with few days left we are getting series of leaks and rumors about the device. Today we have new rumors from one of the Chinese industry insider claiming that it would be the cheapest flagship of 1H2018 in China.
As per the Industry Insider, the upcoming Mi 8 will be the most cost-effective smartphone for the first half of 2018. As per earlier leaks, the Mi 8 with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage cost 2799 Yuan (Rs.30,000/-) which was cheaper than the recently launched OnePlus 6.
There are also rumors about Xiaomi Mi 8 will also come with some interesting features like 3D IR facial recognition tech along with in-display fingerprint scanner which makes the device cheapest and the best flagship of 2018. Apart from this, we also got the poster showing the Mi 8 along with the live images of the retail box leaked.
As per the leaked poster, we can see the Xiaomi Mi 8 Blue variant having iPhone X like wider notch above the display carrying the 3D facial recognition sensor and Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S like Dual camera setup on the rear.
The poster also leaks some of the key features of the Mi 8. As per the poster, the Xiaomi Mi 8 might be the world’s first smartphone to come with Dual Frequency GPS which provides more accurate results than ordinary GPS. The new technology was launched by Broadcom last year with its new chip Broadcom BCM47755 which will be coming soon to 2018 flagship.
The new Dual Frequency GPS also consume 50% low power and provides 30cm accurate results than 5m on normal GPS. The poster also mentions SD845 SoC, 3D IR facial recognition tech, and AI-based Dual cameras.
Apart from that we also got the live images showing the Mi 8 retail box. As per the leaked images, we can see the number 8 on the front and Xiaomi Mi 8 mentioned on the side of the box. On the rear of the box, we have some of the key specs of the device mentioned.
As per the image, the Mi 8 will be powered by SD845 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage which is the base variant. It features 20MP 3D IR facial recognition selfie camera and Dual rear cameras, Dual Frequency GPS and Dual SIM support.
The box content includes Charger with USB Type-C cable and USB Type-C to 3.5 mm audio port cable which confirms that the Mi 8 will ditch the 3.5 mm audio port and will have just USB Type-C port.
