HTC U12+

Earlier HTC shared the teaser confirming the launch event for the next flagship HTC U12+ which is scheduled to launch on May 23. Today we have got the first press renders of the upcoming HTC U12+ along with detailed specs of the device leaked by popular tipster Evan Blass.

Evan Blass the well-known tipster has finally given us the much-awaited glimpse of the upcoming HTC U12+ along with detailed specs of the device on Twitter. From the leaked renders, we can see the new HTC U12+ looks similar to previously leaked renders with 18:9 aspect ratio display in the front and Dual rear cameras with fingerprint scanner below it.

The HTC U12+ is now having Quad-cameras Dual selfie cameras and Dual rear cameras aligned horizontally with Laser AF on the left and Dual Tone Dual LED flash below it and rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. It has got all the keys located towards the right and nothing on the left. From the leaked image, the HTC U12+ will come in three colors with Transcluent, Red and Black colors. It weighs around 188 grams and is 8.7-9.7 mm thick.

Apart from that, we also got the complete specs of the device leaked. The HTC U12+ will have a Liquid surface similar to what we saw on HTC U11+ which launched last year. It is now having new pressure sensitive buttons with new feedback touch experience.

The HTC U12+ sports 6.0 inches QHD+ SuperLCD 6 display with a resolution of 2880*1440p, HDR10 support having an aspect ratio of 18:9 protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. It also has smart display function probably similar to Always-on display.

The HTC U12+ is powered by SD845 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal memory space which can be expanded via microSD card up to 2TB. The device comes with new HTC Edge Sense 2.0 feature which is nothing but squeezing the phone to launch apps take a selfie, launch Google assistant or assign any similar task.

HTC U12+ features 12MP primary wide-angle lens with HTC Ultra Pixel 4 having an aperture of f/1.75 and pixel size of 1.4-micron meter with a 16MP secondary telephoto lens with an aperture of f/2.7 and 1.8-micron meter pixel size with optical zoom up to 2x and digital zoom up to 10x, Dual Tone Dual LED flash, Laser AF+PDAF (UltraSpeed AutoFocus 2), OIS and AR stickers support.

There is 8MP selfie camera with 84-degree wide-angle lens with an aperture of f/2.0 with a pixel size of 1.12-micron meter and support Face Unlock feature. It can record slow-mo videos 1080p @240fps and 4K videos @60fps similar to Samsung Galaxy S9+ and comes with 4 microphones to get 3D audio for the video. The selfie camera can record videos up to 1080p. It also comes with HTC USonic Active Noise cancellation feature, HTC BoomSound HiFi edition which is nothing but front-firing speaker which we saw on many HTC flagship smartphone in the past and Hi-Res Audio support for recording.

The HTC U12+ comes with both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa support with always listening mode. The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with 4G LTE and VoLTE support, Dual-band wifi support, Bluetooth 5.0, A-GPS, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C port and no 3.5 mm audio port this time. The new HTC U12+ is fueled by 3500 mAh battery support for QC 3.0 and runs on Android 8.0 with HTC Sense UI on top.
