Xiaomi just launched a next-generation budget smartphone in India. The Redmi A5 was announced for under Rs 7000 and features an attractive design, a big battery, and a smooth display.

Specs:

The new Redmi A5 will sport a 6.88-inch HD+ IPS LCD with a 1600 x 720 pixels resolution and 120Hz refresh rate support. It is powered by a Unisoc T7250 SoC coupled with 4GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB eMMC 5.1 storage. There is also a microSD card slot.

It features a 32MP main rear camera with LED flash, a VGA depth sensor with an aperture of f/2.2, and an 8MP selfie shooter with an aperture of f/2.2. The device also packs a 5200 mAh battery with 15W fast charging support.

The connectivity options include Dual SIM with Dual 4G LTE and VoLTE, A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.2, Wifi, USB Type-C port, FM Radio, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. It runs on Android 15 Go Edition without any custom skin on top. The device measures 8.26 mm thick and weighs 193g.

Xiaomi’s brand new Redmi A5 has three colour options: Pondicherry Blue, Just Black, and Lake Green. The 3GB + 64GB variant costs Rs 6,499, while the 4GB + 128GB variant costs Rs 7,499.
