Apple’s iPhone 17 series has already been the subject of rumours online. Based on most leaks, the design seems to be getting a major overhaul. According to the renders, the iPhone 17 series will have a large camera island on the back, similar to Google Pixels. A CAD-based render of the iPhone 17 series has leaked online, suggesting key changes.
Design:
Tipster Majin Bu posted the alleged CAD-based renders for the iPhone 17 series on X. The three variants of the iPhone 17 series (iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17, and iPhone 17 Pro) have distinct designs.
A thin, elongated pill-shaped bar visible on the back of the iPhone 17 Air houses the single main camera and LED flash. It matches the recently surfaced renders.
According to the CAD image, the iPhone 17 design looks quite similar to the iPhone 16, with two vertically stacked camera sensors. Earlier reports suggested the vanilla iPhone 17 may not have the rumoured new camera island design and could resemble the iPhone 16.
Additionally, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max match the concept renders that have recently surfaced. On the back is a large rectangular island, but the triple camera sensors are triangular like previous generations. A microphone and LED flash are cutouts on the other end of the module.
Due to the darker area below the camera module, it appears the iPhone 17 Pro models have a dual-tone design. Despite the absence of a front design in the image, we can speculate the flagships could be equipped with Dynamic Island for FaceID and front cameras.
