Nothing has been confirmed today that the Phone (3a) series will be unveiled on March 4 at 10 AM GMT, as it has been teased many times on social media. According to past online teasers, two devices will be released as part of the series: the Phone (3a) and the Phone (3a) Pro.
Nothing also confirmed some key camera specs and showed us what is likely the Pro model’s unusual camera island today.
The upcoming Nothing Phone (3a) Pro includes a 50MP “Shake Free” primary camera a 50MP telephoto camera with a periscope lens, a Sony-made 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP front camera.
The periscope appears to provide a 3x optical, 6x in-sensor, and 60x “ultra” zoom. Nothing says it has a 70mm focal length.
The camera will also be upgraded over the Nothing Phone (2a), thanks to a 50MP sensor. Compared to (2a), it has a 300% greater capacity for full-well lighting and 64% more light is captured at the pixel level.
This video pits the unreleased Nothing Phone (3a) Pro against the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max in a camera shootout in London, explaining what a full well capacity is.
Nothing’s Phone (3a) series incorporates the TrueLens Engine 3.0, combining upgraded hardware with AI tone mapping and scene detection to deliver “true-to-life” results.
All four cameras support Ultra HDR on the upcoming Nothing Phone (3a) devices, while the main and front cameras support 4K video with “stable footage and night enhancement”.
