New leaks suggest that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Flip7 foldable will include at least one meaningful upgrade – an improved hinge mechanism that could reduce display creases.
According to @PandaFlashPro on X, Samsung has improved the hinge design on its next clamshell phone, which should reduce the centre crease. It’s not the first time we’ve heard about hinge refinements, but any progress is welcome-especially since creases remain a significant concern with foldable phones. If this rumour holds, the Galaxy Z Flip7 might make even more progress in this area than the Galaxy Z Flip6.
However, not all positive leaks have surrounded the upcoming Samsung flip. In terms of performance, it won’t bring a significant boost.
Rather than Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon, the Z Flip7 might use its own Exynos 2500 chip. It will be interesting to see how it compares with the competition, but Samsung has a mixed track record with Exynos chips.
It will also retain its predecessor’s 25W wired charging speed, which seems outdated compared to some of the faster-charging foldables available. In addition, the design may remain essentially the same, aside from a potential slimmer profile.
