Last month, Redmi introduced the Redmi Turbo 4 in China, equipped with the Dimensity 8400-Ultra chipset. The company is now reportedly developing a more advanced version, the Turbo 4 Pro, which is expected to feature a Snapdragon processor and a larger battery capacity. Recent insights from the respected leaker Digital Chat Station shed light on the expected specifications of the Turbo 4 Pro.

According to the leak, the Turbo 4 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Elite (SM8735). This chip is strategically positioned between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, offering a sophisticated CPU architecture and an enhanced Adreno GPU. Benchmark tests suggest the chip will deliver impressive multi-core performance, positioning it as a strong contender in the mid-to-high-end smartphone market.

One of the standout features of the Turbo 4 Pro is its massive battery. It is reported to be 7410mAh rated, with a typical capacity of around 7500mAh. This could potentially be the largest battery featured in a Redmi mid-range device.  Further, it is expected to support 90W fast charging, significantly reducing charging times.

The device is also rumoured to boast a 6.67-inch 1.5K OLED display, equipped with a short-focus optical-type fingerprint scanner, enhancing security and ease of use. In terms of camera technology, the Turbo 4 Pro might include a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. Furthermore, the phone is expected to have an IP68-rated metal frame, which would enhance its durability and resistance to water and dust.

In related news, Poco, a brand associated with Redmi, is set to launch the Poco F7 globally in the second quarter of this year. It’s speculated that the Poco F7 could be a modified version of the Turbo 4 Pro, tailored for international markets.
