Apple may soon kick off its 2025 announcements with the release of a new iPhone. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has shared a fresh rumour regarding the iPhone SE 4, which is said to be launching “in the coming days,” likely with an announcement next week.
Sources familiar with the situation suggest that Apple will forgo holding a dedicated event for the SE 4, opting instead to announce the device through a press release. The new budget iPhone is expected to become available later this month, with a starting price of $499. Reports indicate that inventory of the iPhone SE (2022) has been limited in Apple retail stores, further hinting at a new model’s imminent arrival. The SE 4 will also mark a milestone as the first Apple phone to feature an in-house cellular modem, signalling a move away from Qualcomm.
Design-wise, the SE 4 is anticipated to resemble the iPhone 14, sporting a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a notch and the same button configuration. On the rear, it will feature a single 48MP main camera. Under the hood, the SE 4 will be powered by Apple’s A18 chipset and 8GB of RAM, optimized to run Apple Intelligence. Additionally, the device is expected to come with a USB-C port, which would be especially beneficial for the European Union market, where the connector is now required on all new small and medium-sized electronics.
