Motorola’s upcoming high-end Razr foldable smartphone, the “Motorola Razr Ultra 2025,” has been spotted on the Geekbench database. This naming is intriguing, as Motorola hasn’t previously used this specific nomenclature. Traditionally, the company has released models like the Razr 60 Ultra globally and the Razr+ 2025 in North America. Motorola may be considering a unified naming convention for all markets with the Razr Ultra 2025.
The most notable aspect of this device is its use of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. This is a significant upgrade from the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 used in the Razr 50 Ultra / Razr+ 2024, indicating that Motorola is opting for a true flagship chipset this year. In benchmark tests, the device achieved a single-core score of 2,782 and a multi-core score of 8,457. While these scores are slightly lower than expected for the Snapdragon 8 Elite, this could be due to thermal constraints in the foldable design.
The prototype tested was equipped with 12GB of RAM and running Android 15. It’s unclear whether this will be the sole RAM configuration or if other options will be available. Previous rumours suggest that Motorola’s next flagship foldable could launch earlier than its predecessor, potentially in March or April. If this timeline holds, we can anticipate more detailed information in the coming weeks.
