Post-Chinese Spring Festival, Oppo plans to unveil the Oppo Find N5 foldable phone and the Oppo Watch X2 in February. Following this, in March, the brand is set to introduce the Find X8 Ultra and the Find X8 Mini. It was initially reported that the Ultra model would share the same display as the OnePlus 13.

However, a new revelation from renowned leaker Digital Chat Station contradicts earlier reports by stating the Find X8 Ultra will sport a completely flat display, deviating from the micro-quad-curved screen seen on the OnePlus 13. Furthermore, insights into the design of the Find X9 series suggest a similar trend.

The prototype of the Find X8 Ultra initially featured a micro-quad-curved screen, but the final version will switch to a completely flat display with 2K resolution. This design evolution indicates a shift towards completely flat screens for Oppo’s next-generation flagship models, projected to launch by the end of 2025.

Digital Chat Station’s leak also hints that Oppo aims to rival Apple by incorporating completely flat displays with ultra-thin bezels in its forthcoming camera-centric flagships, potentially the Find X9 series.

According to the leak, the Find X9 series is expected to come with 6.8-inch OLED screens, where the standard model may support 1.5K resolution and the Ultra edition could feature 2K resolution. Both variants are likely to include an 8T LTPO panel that features eye-care technology and a high-brightness DC dimming option, mirroring Appleā€™s display specifications.

The tipster also noted that the upcoming flagship phones set to launch by year’s end in China, equipped with Dimensity 9500 and Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (SM8850) chipsets, will boast flat displays, suggesting that this flat screen trend will continue in future flagship models beyond the Find X9 series.
