The design and specifications of HMD Global’s upcoming mid-range smartphone, codenamed “Orka,” have leaked online. HMD’s product roadmap leaker @smashx_60 shared the first images and details about the device, giving us a glimpse of what to expect.

Compared to the HMD Skyline, the HMD “Orka” features a more traditional design. On the back, the leaked images display blue, green, and purple colours.

With a 6.78-inch IPS panel, the “Orka” features a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate and a 1080p+ resolution. With a smaller 6.55-inch display size, the Skyline departs from its p-OLED display panel. Its shift to IPS suggests a more affordable positioning, but the screen size and refresh rate ensure a competitive viewing experience.

It is expected to be equipped with an ARM-based Qualcomm processor with integrated 5G support, paired with 8 GB of RAM. This smartphone is powered by a 33W fast-charging battery via USB-C, allowing users to top up quickly.

According to the inscriptions on the module, the “Orka” is equipped with a 108MP primary camera. Despite its unknown function, the secondary lens may be either an ultrawide or macro lens. It features a 50 MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture for crisp and vivid selfies. The HMD Skyline also features a 50 MP selfie camera.

It appears that HMD Global’s strategy for the “Orka” focuses on affordability.
