On December 26, OnePlus will release the Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro. After the phones were listed at the Oppo Store in China, the brand revealed the date. It was confirmed by Louis Jie, president of OnePlus China, that the vanilla version will run Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while the Pro will run Snapdragon 8 Elite.

OnePlus’ executive said the Ace 5’s chipset will feel like Gen 3.5. More than just an upgrade, the Ace 5 will revolutionize premium smartphones.

Also included in the new phones will be a thin Si/C battery, which OnePlus calls Glacier Battery Technology. The cell is essentially thinner and has more mAh capacity, but we are still waiting for details.

Most of the hardware on Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro is expected to be the same, including 6.78″ LTPO AMOLED display, 50 MP main camera, 50 MP telephoto camera, and 2 MP macro camera.

We can also expect the Ace 5 to have a higher battery capacity, while the Ace 5 Pro will have a 6,100 mAh battery.
