Even before Samsung announced the Galaxy S25 family, we’re already talking about the Galaxy S26 series, due out in January 2026. According to a tipster over on X, Samsung plans to “significantly” equip the S26 line with Exynos chips.

It is reported that the Exynos 2500 used in most markets was not able to provide power to the S25 models due to yield issues. The S25 line will therefore use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite if not everywhere, then almost everywhere, while Exynos 2500 will be pushed to the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Flip FE.

The company hopes that its next-generation Exynos chip will not encounter the same production issues as its predecessor and so reduce the company’s reliance on Qualcomm.

You should heed the usual advice – this is just an unconfirmed rumour at this point, so it could be fabricated. Samsung’s business model makes sense, though, so there’s that.

Earlier S26 rumours suggested the vanilla model might be axed, the Ultra would be called S26 Note, and the Plus would be called S26+.
