Nothing was rumoured to be working on three new smartphones last week, and one of them was spotted on Geekbench and is said to be the Nothing Phone (3). No, that’s not true. Based on its IMEI database appearance, the A059 device is almost certainly the Nothing Phone (3a), since the “P” stands for “plus” in Nothing’s nomenclature, so the A059P would be the Nothing Phone (3a) Plus.
According to the same IMEI database, the third device has the model number A001, and it may be the Nothing Phone (3), but it’s more likely to be the CMF Phone 2.
Let’s get back to Nothing Phone (3a). This will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, according to the benchmark. Considering the Nothing Phone (2a) uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 7200 Pro, this would be an interesting supplier switch for the London-based company.
The Phone (2a) Plus, on the other hand, goes with the Dimensity 7350 Pro, which suggests the Phone (3a) Plus is also likely to receive a slight SoC upgrade. Also rumored is the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip for the CMF Phone 2.
So far, we know nothing about these devices, but we can speculate that they will all be powered by Android 15. With the Phone (2a)’s launch in March, its successor could launch within 2-3 months.
As for the Nothing Phone (3), we’re curious too. Nothing did not release a high-end device this year, but said it would eventually release one in 2025. The Phone (3) may arrive in the second half of next year.
