According to recent disclosures, Oppo is currently developing the Find X8 Mini, designed as a compact flagship for the Chinese market. Similarly, leaks from Digital Chat Station suggest that OnePlus, a related brand, is also crafting its compact flagship for China.
The question arises whether these devices might compete for the same market share. However, DCS posits that there will be no significant conflict due to a key distinction between the devices.
The tipster has revealed that OnePlus’s upcoming compact smartphone will boast a 6.31-inch flat OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
It remains uncertain if this model will join the number series, like OnePlus 13, or the Ace series. Meanwhile, OnePlus is set to introduce the Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro in December, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Elite chips, respectively.
When a Weibo user queried DCS about potential competition between OnePlus’s compact model and the Find X8 Mini, DCS clarified that no conflict would arise due to their distinct chipsets. Currently, details on the Find X8 Mini’s chipset are undisclosed. Should the OnePlus compact device feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite, it’s likely the Find X8 Mini might come with the Dimensity 9400, similar to its siblings, the Find X8 and X8 Pro.
