Muralikrishnan B, Xiaomi India’s current president, will step down at the end of 2024. Xiaomi has also confirmed the launch of the Redmi A4 and Redmi Note 14 series for the Indian market. In an exclusive interview with Business World, the company shared this timeline.

According to the report, Xiaomi will launch the Redmi A4 in India in November. Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 processor will be available for the first time with this phone. Xiaomi showcased the device’s design at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) in October.

The Redmi Note 14 series is expected to launch in December 2024, continuing the momentum from the festive season. For the first time since the pandemic, Xiaomi is launching two Note series devices in the same year.

Two generations of Xiaomi’s Note series were released six months apart. Despite COVID-19, the schedule seems to be returning to normal. In June, the Redmi Note 13 series launched in India, and its successor will be released in December.

There is a rumour that some Redmi Note 14 models will feature a 200MP sensor along with a redesigned camera design. Additionally, it has larger batteries and faster charging capabilities.

As of yet, Xiaomi has not confirmed pricing details, but the series is expected to compete in various mid-range segments, ranging from under Rs 20,000 to more than Rs 30,000.
