According to reports, Apple is developing a 90Hz display technology. Myke Hurley and Jason Snell of Upgrade Podcast tipped us off to the news. The iPad Air, iMac, and Studio Display could all feature Apple’s latest display.

Apple is developing a liquid motion panel that runs at 90Hz, according to a tipster. The display is expected to be included in the upcoming M3 iPad Air. In addition to the 24-inch iMac and the Studio Display, it may also reach them.

Apple doesn’t have a 90Hz display at the moment. There are only two types of displays offered by the company: 60Hz and 120Hz (ProMotion). With the rumoured display, the 60Hz panels could be replaced with 90Hz panels at no significant price increase.

Online reports indicate that all models of the upcoming iPhone 17 lineup may feature 120Hz ProMotion screens. The ProMotion screens are currently only available on iPhone Pro models. In both the base and Plus models, the panel runs at 60Hz.

Bloomberg reports that Apple’s new iPad Air will debut in early 2025. Apple Intelligence features will also be compatible with the M3 chip. For the upcoming Studio Display, however, there are no rumours yet.
