New features have been added to the iPhone, iPad, and Mac with Apple Intelligence, Apple’s new personal intelligence system. By leveraging Apple Silicon, the system is designed to understand and create language and images, streamline tasks, and enhance user experience while prioritizing privacy. As of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, these capabilities are now available.

Several Apple Intelligence features will be available in December, with further capabilities coming in the months ahead. New visual intelligence features, enhanced Writing Tools and integration with ChatGPT provide access to its broad world knowledge and document- and image-understanding capabilities.

Apple’s features cannot be discussed without discussing privacy. It is important to note that Apple Intelligence is designed with privacy in mind. Private Cloud Compute extends privacy and security into the cloud without storing or sharing user data with Apple by running many of the models that power it entirely on the device.

Those who wish to experience Apple Intelligence will need to update to the latest version (iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1) on their compatible devices. As of now, the feature is available in most regions where the device and Siri language are set to US English, with additional languages rolling out in the coming months. It is compatible with the iPhone 16 series, including iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, as well as iPads and Macs equipped with a M1 chip or later.
