Samsung’s Galaxy A55 is an excellent mid-range Android smartphone. However, leaks about its successor have already started flowing in. In a new report, the Galaxy A56’s camera specifications are revealed, evoking both excitement and disappointment.

According to GalaxyClub, the Galaxy A56 could feature a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 5MP macro camera. As far as specifications go, the Galaxy A55 and even the Galaxy A54 have similar specs. Over the past two years, there has been very little progress on the rear camera.

On the Galaxy A56, Samsung could replace the 32MP front camera with a 12MP sensor. Samsung has been using this sensor for its Galaxy A51 front camera since late 2019, possibly marking it as the first upgrade in several years. According to the report, this new sensor may be from the Galaxy S series.

According to the report, Samsung’s recent announcement of longer software support could also benefit the Galaxy A56. Early this month, Samsung announced six years of software updates for the Galaxy A16. With this increased software support promise, the Galaxy A56 should also benefit when it launches in spring 2025. The new Exynos 1580 SoC is widely expected to power the Galaxy A56.
