With three members: the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, Samsung is rumored to be saving money on displays for its upcoming Galaxy S25 series. Displays will reportedly be made from M13 organic materials to save money.
Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro and Google’s Pixel 9 Pro already use Samsung Display panels made from M14 materials. Despite this, Samsung Electronics is reportedly going with the cheaper and older option to save money – be assured buyers will not benefit from the savings.
Compared to M13, M14 materials are reportedly 20-30% more efficient and last 10-20% longer. The peak brightness also appears to be higher if we compare numbers alone. According to Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants, a reliable source of information about smartphone supply chains, this rumour originated in Korea.
While that’s all true, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will most likely continue using the Gorilla Glass Armor, which will significantly reduce the screen’s reflectivity. Because it doesn’t need to contend with reflections, less brightness will go a long way.
