An accurate source of Apple-related information, Haitong International’s Jeff Pu, has released a new research note on the iPhone 17 series, which is expected next September.
The family’s newest member will be the iPhone 17 Slim (or iPhone 17 Air). According to reports (as much as anything can be unofficially confirmed), the model will use a 19-inch screen, 8GB of RAM, and Apple Intelligence (so Apple will be supported).
The phone will have a 48 MP camera on the rear and a 24 MP camera on the front. It will also have Face ID, an aluminium frame, and a 6.6-inch screen. This new model will replace the iPhone Plus, and Pu says it will have an entirely new design.
In addition to some minor hardware upgrades, Apple released the iPhone 16 lineup with more AI features. DxOMark’s recent camera test revealed the iPhone 16 Pro Max struggles to compete with some of its Chinese counterparts in maintaining details, especially at telephoto.
In addition, he discussed the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. They will both have the same screen sizes as their predecessors, the same A19 Pro chip, 12GB of RAM, a 48 MP telephoto camera, and a 24 MP selfie camera, but the Pro Max will also have a narrower Dynamic Island due to the use of Face ID.
