There are no plans to refresh Apple’s budget-friendly iPhone SE line anytime soon. There is still a trickle of leaks about the iPhone SE 4 compared to the usual rumour firehose since the iPhone SE 3 is expected to stick around for at least the remainder of the year.
A recent image shared by leaker Sonny Dickson reveals what third-party case manufacturers might expect from the upcoming phone. The case design reveals a few interesting details about the iPhone SE 4.
Since the iPhone 12, Apple has adopted a flat-edged design language for its entire iPhone lineup, including this case.
It appears that the iPhone SE 4 will not have the Action Button, as seen on the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 16 lineup, as it features a cutout for a mute switch. You can customize shortcuts based on the context of the button.
Despite the SE’s adoption of this feature, it appears that the budget phone will stick with the familiar mute switch for now.
This iPhone SE 4 may finally switch from a single-lens setup to a dual-lens setup, as its camera is notably larger.
Although the design matches the dummy case units we saw in April, it doesn’t completely match Apple’s current style. In a similar fashion to the iPhone 7 Plus, the camera cut-out is positioned horizontally.
The leaks so far suggest that this camera setup could be based on inaccurate information.
Overall, this leaked case provides insight into the iPhone SE 4’s design, but it should be treated with caution.
