The iQOO 13 will follow Vivo’s flagship in 2024. Unlike Vivo’s Dimensity 9400-powered X200 series, the iQOO flagship will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 platform.
According to a Weibo leak by tipster Goblue V, the iQOO 13 will also include a single-layer motherboard and a redesigned heat dissipation system.
The VC cooling plate in iQOO 13 is likely to be larger to dissipate the heat generated by the processor more effectively. While details about the cooling system remain scarce, a larger VC cooling plate will likely be incorporated. As a result, performance should be improved during periods of heavy workload.
In addition to LPDDR5X RAM, leaks have revealed UFS 4.0 storage on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. IQOO 13 will be powered by one of two variants of the chip, differing by CPU clock speed and cellular connectivity.
TSMC’s 3nm process node gives the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 a significant 56% performance boost over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
The iQOO 13 is also said to have a massive battery capacity of 6,150 mAh, which is an upgrade from the iQOO 12’s 5,000 mAh. With silicon-anode technology, this new battery could provide longer-lasting power and better battery life in general.
Even though a redesigned cooling system and a larger battery capacity are promising, readers should still treat the leaks with caution.
Key specs leaked:
The iQOO 13 will be thinner than 8.1 mm, according to the tipster. This is similar to the predecessor, which also measures 8.1mm. However, the upcoming phone may offer better durability due to its IP68 water and dust resistance rating, an upgrade over the IP64 rating of the iQOO 12.
Also expected are ultrasonic fingerprint recognition for biometrics, a flat touchscreen with a selfie cutout, and chamfered edges.
Similarly to the Vivo X100 series, the phone is rumored to support 100W PPS fast charging. The included charging adapter is said to support PPS and PD charging at 100W and use a Type-C to Type-C connector.
The insider also gave a tip about the display. A “better panel” is expected to be used by iQOO 13 than the BOE X2 Oriental screen used by OnePlus 13.
