So far, Google hasn’t rolled out Android 15 to Pixel devices after pushing the update to AOSP. This year, it’s the opposite. Google has many different deadlines to meet. This applies to AOSP and its partners, as well as to its own devices. All of Google’s new Pixel devices were announced in August this year instead of October, which threw a wrench into everything.

Android 15 was pushed to AOSP on September 3, but it won’t be available to Pixel devices until October. It is now possible to share an exact date for the update – October 15.

Generally, Google releases updates on Mondays, but October 14 is technically a holiday—Columbus Day—in the US. Therefore, moving it to the next day makes sense. If additional bugs are found, Google may have to fix them before October 15. However, Android 15 will begin rolling out to Pixel devices on that date.

For Pixel 6 and later, Android 15 will be available. This is the first Android update available for Tensor-only Pixel devices. The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will also receive the final Android update (that is guaranteed). However, they will continue to receive security updates until 2026.
