We’ve already heard plenty of leaks about the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is expected to be one of the best Android phones of 2025. According to a prolific tipster, the phone may gain an ultrawide camera shortly.

According to Ice Universe, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will offer a higher-resolution ultrawide camera. This phone will have a 50MP f/1.9 ultrawide camera with a 1/2.52-inch sensor size and 0.7-micron pixels.

Compared to the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s 12MP ultrawide camera, this would result in a significant resolution increase. You might want a high-resolution ultrawide lens for a few reasons.

The ultrawide camera can record 8K videos, which can be difficult with a 33MP camera. An ultrawide lens provides a wider field of view, as well as more stable video. Additionally, a 50MP ultrawide camera allows for some digital stabilization via cropping of 8K video. With an ultrawide lens and digital stabilization, 8K output could be smoother.

According to Ice Universe, although the Galaxy S25 Ultra will have a 50MP ultrawide lens, it will not have a 50MP 3x telephoto lens. According to the tipster, the Ultra phone will keep its current 3x 10MP telephoto lens.

Galaxy Ultra’s 3x 10MP camera has been available since 2021’s Galaxy S21 Ultra, so this is somewhat disappointing. A higher resolution 3x sensor would have provided more detailed portraits and better 3x image quality in general.

Further, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will retain the same 200MP main sensor but might get some minor changes.
