Apple has finally launched its 10th Edition of smartwatch with the new Apple Watch Series 10. After the success of Watch Series 9, the new Series 10 brings some incremental upgrades which also include the bigger display.
Today, Apple announced the Apple Watch Series 10, featuring a wide-angle OLED display that is larger than the Apple Watch Ultra, and dubbed it the “largest display and thinnest design ever.”
In comparison to the stainless steel Series 9, the Series 10 is nearly 10% thinner, and it weighs 20% less. Additionally, the aluminium cases weigh up to 10% less, while the Series 10 is also available in Grade 5 titanium instead of stainless steel.
With the new larger screens, Apple has also created a new watch face that reflects ambient light. Apple’s first wide-angle OLED display lets you see apps and messages even from the sides. In Always On mode, the display can now update once a second for a more seamless experience.
Even though Apple Watches are quite fast, the new model gets a faster chip. With the S10 chip, the device is not only faster, but also more efficient and AI-optimized. Machine learning is used in the chip to detect crashes, falls, and gestures, such as double tapping. Additionally, it minimizes background noise during phone calls.
As of now, the Apple Watch Series 10 doesn’t have special AI features, but it’s always a good idea to make sure it’s compatible when they do.
With an 18-hour battery life, the Apple Watch Series 10 doesn’t improve in this category. The Apple Watch can charge to 80% in 30 minutes, according to Apple. Besides Silver Aluminum, the new Apple Watch Series 10 comes in Jet Black and Rose Gold.
Music and podcasts can now be played directly through the speaker on Apple’s latest Apple Watch model. An integrated metal back integrates the antenna into the housing.
It can also detect sleep apnea conditions, in which breathing stops repeatedly during the night. To diagnose sleep apnea, users are required to wear the Apple Watch when sleeping for a few days before receiving a diagnosis.
Furthermore, the new Apple Watch models are now water-resistant up to 20 meters, making them suitable for high-speed water sports.
Pricing:
Starting on Friday, September 20, the Apple Watch Series 10 will be available for $399 (Rs.33,500/-). The Apple Watch Series 10 with GPS+Cellular costs Rs.46,900/- whereas the Titanium one costs over Rs.79,900/- in India.
