As we mentioned, Xiaomi is developing a smartphone codenamed ‘zhuque’. It was believed to be the first MIX device without buttons. A smartphone without a physical button was actually tested by Xiaomi 1.5 years ago but was never released. Once again, we are seeing a model without a physical button introduced by the device manufacturer.
Instead of focusing on zhuque, let’s look at Xiaomi’s first smartphone without a physical button, wangshu. On the famous Chinese forum CoolAPK, we found some prototype images.
Xiaomi is working on a mysterious MIX phone codenamed ‘Wangshu’. It had a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and no physical buttons. Additionally, this device supports 200W fast charging and an under-screen camera. Upon analyzing the MIUI code, we believe that the codename ‘Wangshu’ belongs to this prototype MIX device.
There were no physical buttons on this special MIX smartphone with the MIX logo on both top and bottom. It has been 1.5 years since Xiaomi tested its first device without physical buttons. Wangshu’s display was 2K 120Hz LTPO and its battery was 4500mAh. In the past, Xiaomi gave up on introducing this special device. In addition to the 200W wired charging, the smartphone also supports 50W wireless charging.
“Wangshu” is Xiaomi’s first buttonless smartphone. Many prototype MIX devices have been tested by the Chinese brand, but none have been released. Currently, Xiaomi is working on a buttonless device codenamed ‘zhuque’; we hope it won’t give up on this smartphone.
