Fusion, the newest device from HMD, aims to tackle the modular smartphone design with what it calls Fusion outfits.

With these interchangeable covers, you can add everything from wireless charging to more rugged protection to a ring light for brighter selfies and live streaming. Using the open-source HMD Fusion Development Toolkit, you can 3D print your designs using Smart Pins on the back of the device. In Q4, HMD will begin selling its first-party Fusion outfits.

Due to its semi-transparent plastic shell, the HMD Fusion, including its battery, screen, and other key components, is easy to repair. HMD will also offer spare parts through iFixit over the next seven years.
