Samsung’s next-generation Galaxy S25 series is almost here. Its flagship phones are typically released in two variants, the Exynos and Snapdragon models. It appears that the Galaxy S25 lineup will include some bittersweet updates.

Samsung’s Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature Qualcomm’s upcoming high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC, according to a new report from Hankyung. Surprisingly, Samsung hasn’t announced the Exynos 2500 to power the Galaxy S25. Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ launched with Exynos 2400 in most markets. Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

These devices may now be powered exclusively by Snapdragon chips. According to Samsung, the Exynos variants will use the highest-performance components to ensure performance. There is a rumour that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will offer a significant performance upgrade, about 30 percent in AI and GPU performance.

Since the Galaxy S series has always outperformed its Exynos counterparts, switching exclusively to Snapdragon would be welcomed news. As a result of moving to Snapdragon only, Samsung might increase the price of the entire series. Ming-Chi Kuo, a renowned analyst (via PhoneArena), stated that the price of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will rise by 25 percent to 30 percent.

As a result, the Galaxy S25 lineup is also becoming more expensive.

Next year, the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 will be released with the Exynos 2500 processor. Until now, foldables have relied on Snapdragon chips. Samsung has time to improve the 2500’s yield and stabilize its performance until they are released, the report states.
