According to reports, OnePlus is working on two new Ace 5 smartphones – the Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro. The launch date has been leaked by reliable tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS).
OnePlus’ Ace 5 series is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2024, according to the tipster on Weibo. According to rumours, the Ace 5 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, while the Pro model will have the yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
On October 24th, Qualcomm will unveil the 8 Gen 4 at its Snapdragon Summit. It is unlikely that the Ace 5 Pro will launch in October since it relies on this chip. The launch is more likely to occur in November or December.
OnePlus Ace 5:
The new OnePlus Ace 5 will sport a larger 6.78 inches 1.5K (2772 x 1240p) 8T LTPP OLED display. It will sport a 120Hz refresh rate with a 10-bit screen & HDR10+ support. The device is now powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC coupled with 12GB/16GB/24GB RAM and 256GB/512GB/1TB storage options.
The OnePlus Ace 5 comes with a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor with OIS. It is coupled with an 8MP ultra-wide Sony IMX355 & 2MP monochrome sensor. There is the same old 16MP selfie camera under the punch-hole display. This time the phone packs a massive 6200 mAh battery and comes with faster 100W wired charging support. With OnePlus’ new Glacier Battery tech, the Ace 5 features a more energy-efficient cell with a 6,200mAh capacity.
Additionally, OnePlus claims 36% improved cooling and 70% improved thermal conductivity over its outgoing Ace 2 Pro model with a 9126m2 VC heat dissipation area. It also features IP65 certification making dust and water-resistant.
The device gets Dual SIM with 4G LTE and 5G support, A-GPS, GLONASS, GPS, Wifi 7, USB Type-C Port, 3.5 mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and Linear Motor Vibrator. The OnePlus Ace 5 will run on Android 15 OS with OxygenOS 15 out of the box.
