Chromecast with Google TV offers great pricing, handy Google Assistant integration, and an unobtrusive design. With the newly launched Google TV Streamer, however, the search giant is seeking to right some wrongs.
Its design departs from the stick-like form factor in favour of something more like a wireless charging pad. The new streaming gadget is designed to seamlessly integrate into your home entertainment system.
The TV gadget can act as a smart home hub, as it is equipped with Thread radio support and has smart home trappings. This design was chosen by Google so it can be placed in front of TVs rather than behind them, impacting connectivity. It also includes an Ethernet port for more reliable connectivity. We believe this could make for a great game streaming experience, as well as a stable smart home experience.
In addition, Google TV Streamer now offers a Google Home panel. You can view and control all your smart home devices from your phone. Google is focusing on the smart home with Thread support, Google Home panel, and design.
With the new Google TV Streamer, you’ll get an unnamed processor with a 22% faster CPU and 32GB of storage (up from 8GB). There is no USB-A port, no microSD card slot, or a second USB-C port for expansion, so if you want more storage, you’ll need a USB-C hub. Additionally, Google confirmed that the new device has more RAM, but did not reveal how much more.
Google’s new streaming gadget supports 4K, HDR, Dolby Atmos, and Spatial Audio with Pixel Buds. Google TV Streamer offers AI-enabled recommendations, Gemini-powered content overviews, and AI-generated screensavers.
A new remote has also been added to the Google TV Streamer. Volume keys are now on the front of the remote rather than on the side. You can also remap the shortcut button to launch your favourite app, change inputs, or open Google Home’s panel. In addition, you can play a chime when you press a button to find your remote. The Google Home app or voice search can also help you locate your remote.

It will cost you $99.99 (Rs.8,500/-). It is available in porcelain and hazel finishes. The Google Store only offers Hazel in the United States.
