As Google’s August launch event draws closer, leaks continue to surface, revealing a more detailed picture of what’s in store. Google’s Pixel Watch 3 is expected to debut at the event, and the latest leak, courtesy of Android Headlines, shows what appears to be the official promo material for the smartwatch.
There are two sizes confirmed for the Pixel Watch 3: a 41mm model (matching the existing Pixel Watch 2) and a larger 45mm model. Compared to the Pixel Watch 2, the smaller model has “10% more screen,” which indicates thinner bezels, while the 45mm version has “40% more screen.”
In addition, the Pixel Watch 3 will use Google’s “Actua” display, which offers a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. Pixel Watch 3 images also suggest an “ultra-responsive” display, possibly pointing to faster refresh rates.
With the always-on display enabled, battery life is up to 24 hours, and with Battery Saver Mode, it’s up to 36 hours. According to Google, the 41mm Pixel Watch 3 charges 20% faster compared to its predecessor.
Features:
There are a variety of new software features included in the leaked images that enhance the utility of the Pixel Watch 3. Users can watch Nest doorbells and camera feeds directly on their wrists, providing real-time monitoring and convenience. The ability to customize runs, race against previous workouts, and receive real-time feedback on their form, such as cadence and stride, will be welcomed by fitness fans, especially runners.
It will also be possible to make contactless payments using Google Wallet and control the camera on the phone. It will also include the “Morning Brief” feature, which offers users a personalized overview of their well-being each morning.
It’s safe to assume that the Pixel Watch 3 will take advantage of Google’s AI capabilities in some way, even though the leak does not mention Gemini-based AI features.
A previous leak also suggests the Pixel Watch 3 will receive a substantial price bump over the current Pixel Watch. It won’t be long before we get the full scoop on the Pixel Watch 3 at the official launch event.
