The next big thing from Samsung is the next generation of its One UI 7 software, following the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6. Next week, Samsung will release the One UI 7.0 beta, followed by a stable release later in the year.

With leaks pouring in for this new build, we now have a comprehensive look at what One UI 7.0 has to offer thanks to our partner at @chunvn8888.

New Icons:

With One UI 7.0, Samsung introduces a completely new set of icons. All stock app icons, including Dialer, Contacts, Settings, Camera, Gallery, Browser, Theme, and more, will be redesigned by the company. As a result, these icons deviate from the traditional aesthetic of Material Design on Android.

Gradients and shadows have been added to the icons to give them a 3D appearance. The edges are also rounded. As part of the redesign, widgets now closely resemble those found on iOS 18.

Camera UI:

The camera app has undergone one of the most noticeable UI changes. According to leaked screenshots, all major controls have been relocated to the bottom for easier access, including camera modes, quick controls, and zoom shortcuts. A horizontal bar or pop-up menu displays other shooting modes. The redesigned interface appears to combine elements from other major Android camera apps.

Settings Panel:

It seems that Samsung is embracing more rounded elements in its UI. There are now softer edges on Settings, Quick Actions, Notifications, and other components. Icons that have been redesigned seamlessly complement this approach.

Samsung’s own Dynamic Island:

One UI 7.0 introduces Samsung’s Dynamic Island. System apps have a pill that looks similar to Dynamic Island. Samsung places the app pills on the left side of the notification area, rather than in the center as with iOS. Below is a video showing the app pill in action.

According to reports, One UI 7.0 builds will feature fluid animations similar to iOS and OPPO’s ColorOS. As these findings are based on early software builds, subsequent updates may change the experience.

New Task Continuity:

This change aims to enhance the Samsung ecosystem and make it more compatible with iOS. With One UI 7, Galaxy users can seamlessly continue calls and video calls across devices. You could answer a call on your Galaxy smartphone and transfer it to your Galaxy Tab or TV with a simple gesture. Using this app continuity, users will be able to transfer calls as well as share cameras and storage across all Galaxy devices.

Updated Notification Panel:

One UI 7.0 contains one of the most controversial design changes yet. By implementing a multi-page notification panel, Samsung follows Apple and Xiaomi’s design approach. There will be separate dropdowns for notifications and quick settings, with notifications on the left and quick settings on the right.
