Everyone knows the phones HMD Global makes, even though it isn’t a household name. “We make Nokia phones at HMD Global,” the company boasts. The company is now introducing phones under the HMD branding in the Indian market. Today, HMD India launched the HMD Crest and HMD Crest Max.
In terms of design, the HMD Crest and HMD Crest Max are similar, except for the cameras. The HMD Crest has a dual camera at the back, while the HMD Crest Max has three cameras.
Furthermore, HMD India promises better phone repairability with “HMD Repairability 1.0”. It claims this will make it easier to fix a broken screen, bent charging port, or dead battery.
HMD Crest & HMD Crest Max:
The new HMD Crest & Crest Max sports 6.67 inches FHD+ R-OLED punch-hole 120Hz refresh rate display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The HMD Crest & Crest Max comes with Unisoc T760 SoC is coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage. According to Unisoc, the chipset will achieve an average Antutu score of 5,10,000, similar to MediaTek Dimensity 6080 and Snapdragon 4+ Gen 2.
The HMD Crest features a dual camera with a 50MP main sensor coupled with a 2MP depth sensor and LED flash. The HMD Crest Max features a 64MP main, 5MP ultra-wide and 2MP depth sensor. Both devices feature a massive 50MP selfie camera.
The connectivity option includes a USB Type-C port, Wifi, Dual SIM with 5G, 4G LTE, VoLTE support, a 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.0, A-GPS, and GLONASS. Both of them have a 5000 mAh battery with 33W charge support. In addition to Android 14, the phone comes with a 2-year security patch guarantee, but no mention of OS updates. Further, the device is also splash-proof thanks to IP52 certification. The device measures 8.55 mm thick and weighs 196g.
The HMD Crest is available in three colours – red, purple, and blue. There are three colours available for Crest Max – blue, red, and violet.

HMD Crest and HMD Crest Max will be available online through Amazon and HMD.com, as well as through retail partners across the country. Next month, the phones will be available during the Amazon Great Freedom Sale. During the Great Freedom Festival sale, HMD Crest will be available for Rs 12,999, and Crest Max for Rs 14,999.
