Google is expected to unveil the Pixel 9 Pro Fold next month. The video has already been teased a few weeks ago. As a result of the taller cover display, both displays will have a different aspect ratio.
Android Authority reports that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will feature a 6.24-inch display with 2,424 x 1080 resolution. In comparison to the original Pixel Fold’s 5.8-inch 2,092 x 1080 resolution. For HDR content, the brightness has been bumped up to 1,800 nits, which means peak brightness may be even higher.
A new 8-inch display will also be available with a resolution of 2,152 x 2,076 and a brightness boost of 1,600 nits for HDR. Like many other foldables, this is a bit larger and closer to being square.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold sounds and looks much more like the OnePlus Open from what we’ve seen so far. With these changes, Google is also changing how we use your foldable – if we have only used a Pixel Fold. The Pixel Fold’s short and wide cover display made it more like a landscape tablet, so you were already in tablet mode for apps that supported it when you opened it. Unlike other foldables that require you to rotate the phone to use it as a tablet.
