In June, Vivo released the V40, V40 Lite, and V40 SE in Europe. Vivo V40 and V40 Pro have now entered the Indian market. A new report confirms that both models will support Zeiss integration before any official announcement.
It has been confirmed by sources close to the matter that the Vivo V40 and Vivo V40 Pro will launch in India next month with Zeiss imaging systems. As of 2020, Vivo has been collaborating with Zeiss on its flagship X series smartphones, which usually feature Zeiss integration. The Vivo V40 is the first mid-range phone to feature the same imaging technology as the V series.
This also signifies Vivo’s desire to improve photography even in this category. The industry insider revealed no other details about the upcoming smartphones. Despite this, the Indian version of the V40 is likely to be the same as the European one.
Design:
In comparison to the V30, the V40 looks nothing like its predecessor. There is now a large oval-shaped camera module with smaller circular housings for dual camera sensors, prominently branded with Zeiss.
In addition to the main camera setup, there is another oval cutout containing Vivo’s trademark Aura light, as well as an additional sensor that remains unclear. This phone still has the same curved-edge display and minimal bezels as the V30.
Specs:
The new Vivo V40 will sport a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED flat display (2400×1080p) with 120Hz refresh rates. The Vivo V40 is now powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC coupled with 8GB/12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB/256GB UFS 2.2 storage space.
Vivo V40 features a 50MP OmniVision OV50E sensor, f/1.88 aperture with an OIS coupled with a 50MP ultra-wide sensor. On the front, it ships with a massive 50MP selfie shooter with dual soft LED flash.
The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with Dual 5G, 4G LTE, VoLTE support, Wifi 5, A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and USB Type-C port. It also gets IP68 certified making dust and water-resistant.
It packs a 5500 mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. The device runs on Android 14 with OriginOS 4.0 on top. It measures 7.19mm thick and weighs 193g. The device also gets NFC and in-display fingerprint support. It comes in Stella Silver and Nebula Purple.
