HONOR has announced the Magic V3, its new foldable flagship. As a successor to the Magic V2, this handset was launched in China. In September, it will probably be announced for global markets at IFA 2024. It’s still unclear, though. Thus, this smartphone is even thinner than the Magic V2, and even thinner than expected.
Design:
While it was rumoured to be 9.7mm thick, it’s only 9.2mm thick (not counting the camera bump, of course). Honor Magic V2’s thickness ranged from 9.9mm to 10.1mm. The vegan leather model has a thickness of 9.2mm, while the glass models have a thickness of 9.3mm. The phone measures 156.6 x 145.3 x 4.35-4.4mm when unfolded. Folded, it measures 156.6 x 74 x 9.2-9.3mm.
As for weight, the HONOR Magic V3 weighs only 226 grams (vegan leather model, glass model weighs 230 grams). It has an IPX8 rating, which is very welcome. The hinge has also been thinned down, measuring 2.84mm. According to the company, the hinge can be folded up to 500,000 times.
It is available in black, green, red, and white colours. While all other variants have glass on the back, the black variant combines metal with vegan leather.
