Yesterday, Nothing published a teaser that led to speculation that the company was ready to launch the Nothing Phone (3), given that the company announced the two predecessors in July. As it turns out, it’s actually one of Nothing’s CMF budget phones.
Nothing CMF Phone 1 with a distinctive screw that’s part of “Nothing Lock” is pictured in the teaser. This name has not been officially confirmed but rather suggested by a tipper. Users can purchase proprietary accessories like support brackets and lanyards through the feature. The accessories will attach to a special connector on the phone’s back.
There will also be a fully plastic version, although the chassis will be made of plastic and vegan leather.

The new CMF Phone (1) will sport a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass protection on the front. The CMF Phone (1) is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB/256GB UFS 2.2 storage.
The new CMF Phone (1) will feature a 50MP Samsung GN9 (f/1.8) main sensor along with a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultra-wide sensor with LED flash. There is a 16MP selfie shooter under the punch-hole notch. It packs a 5000 mAh battery with 33W fast charge support.
The CMF Phone (1) will run on Android 14 OS with Nothing OS 2.5 on top. Sadly, no charger is included in the retail package. The device also gets IP54 certified making it splashproof. The brand is also promising 3 years of major Android OS updates with 4 years of Security patches.
The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with 5G, Dual 4G LTE and VoLTE support, and Wifi 6. Further A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.3, USB Type-C port, FM Radio, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Pricing:
CMF Phone (1) will arrive in Black, Orange, Green, and Blue colors. The CMF Phone (1) with 6GB+128GB costs $249 (Rs.20,000/-) whereas the 6GB+256GB at $279 (Rs.22,000/-). In India, the phone will start at Rs.15,000/- including all offers.
