According to a new report from Finland, HMD’s next own-brand smartphone will be named Skyline. On July 10, one Finnish retailer is expected to start carrying the Skyline in stock.
As the price is rumored to be €520 (Rs.47,200/-), this will be higher-end than what we’ve seen from HMD or Nokia recently. It will come in black with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and it will be dual-SIM capable. The model number is TA-1688.
There hasn’t been any more information leaked about this device, but it is likely that it is the one previously known as Tomcat. So, if that’s true, then the Skyline should feature a 120-Hz FHD+ OLED touchscreen and Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC.
On the rear, three cameras are expected: a 108 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2 MP macro or depth sensor, while for selfies, a 32 MP camera will be used. It will have a 4,900 mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. From day one, it will run Android 14 and be IP67-certified for dust and water resistance. Also included are stereo speakers and a fingerprint sensor under the display.
One of the devices coming soon is codenamed Nighthawk, and it should cost less than €300. This phone will have an FHD+ OLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, but it will be powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC and will be paired with either 8GB of RAM or 128GB or 256GB of storage.
In addition to the 108 MP main camera, the phone has only one more camera on the back, and a 32 MP selfie sensor. However, this one comes with a 5,000mAh battery and a headphone jack. In addition to running Android 14, it will also have stereo speakers.
