The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch7 series will include three versions, including a premium tier dubbed “Ultra”. Samsung may decide instead to name the premium watch “Samsung Galaxy Watch X” instead.
Furthermore, diving will be a key feature, as the watch will compete head-to-head with the Apple Watch Ultra series. Samsung Watch X is expected to be water-resistant to 100m (330ft), the same as the Apple Watch Ultra (and its successor). In fact, the Apple watch is waterproof to a depth of 40 m (130 ft), while the Samsung watch may also be waterproof up to 40 m (130 ft).
However, the X has a longer battery life than its siblings, up to 100 hours (approximately four days). The Galaxy Watch6 Classic claims a battery life of 40 hours, while the Watch5 Pro (which had a larger battery) claims a battery life of 80 hours.
There’s no doubt the Watch X’s battery will be bigger than that of the Classic, especially because of the new and improved Exynos W1000 (which may be Samsung’s first mass-market 3nm chip).
The Samsung Galaxy Watch X will be unveiled on July 24 and not July 10 as some early reports suggested, according to TechManiacs.gr, which also revealed the watch’s name and other details. The Galaxy Ring won’t be alone, of course; we also expect to see the next generation of foldables.
